FOG Black 17U Men win gold medal and National Championship banner at 2019 Volleyball Nationals in Toronto, ON on May 9-14, 2019.

Congratulations to U15 FOG boys Jack Semonis and Spencer Foxcroft for winning the 2019 Junior High Provincial Beach Championship.

HEAD COACH - HAKAN OZDEMIR

This will be Hakan's second year of coaching with FOG. He played 10 years of club volleyball including 5 years professional in various clubs and leagues in Turkey.  HakanI coached a high school senior girls geam from 1981 to 1982, a 17U men's team from 1982 to1984, and a U15 girls team from 2000 to 2002 in Turkey.  He  was an assistant coach for NAVC men's 14U in 2013 and head coach of FOG Red Men's 16U in 2016. 

Hakan was part of team delegates for the Turkish Women's Volleyball National Team in Euro League Qualification Tournament in 1995 to Netherlands, and for, 17U Turkish Men's Volleyball National Team in European Championship Qualification Tournament in Slovenia.

He is once again excited to be back coaching and sharing his expertise and passion of the game with the athletes.

ASSISTANT COACH - GREIG JOHNSON

Greig is looking forward to his third year with the FOG program. As a coach, he enjoys working with a group of boys who are passionate about the game and wanting to grow as individuals. Strong work ethic while having fun are his main priority.

As a club player Greig was fortunate to win a U18 National Championship. Playing for the U of A Bears gave him the opportunity to make long lasting friendships while playing games/tournaments in North America and overseas.

ASSISTANT COACH - BATUHAN OZDEMIR

This will be Batuhan's first year coaching a volleyball team.  He started playing volleyball in Turkey when he was ten years old and has played competitive volleyball since. In Turkey,  he played for TOFAS Sports Club for three years and in Canada, played for NAVC U14, FOG U15 and FOG U16.  Batuhan is a Level 2 volleyball referee and has been officiating for the past three years. He is currently in my second year of Sciences taking Psychology at the University of Alberta

Batuhan is very passionate about volleyball and it is a big part of his life. He's excited to be a part of the FOG family once again and share his experience with the athletes.
