Re-Signing Period (15U-18U)
Re-Signing Period 

- for athletes in the current season (2022-23) from the 15U, 16U, and 17U age groups. Age eligible athletes playing on an 18U team from the 2022-23 season qualify for early signing, provided they are eligible for the 2023-2024 season.

Early Signing Period (15U-18U)
Early signing

Nov. 1- 6, 2023

- includes athletes that played in the 2022-23 season from the 12U, 13U, and 14U age groups.

Nov. 26, 2023

Winter Tryout Period 
Winter tryouts

- starts Sunday, November 26, 2023 for 12U - 18U Age Groups (2023-24 season). 

 

  • ALL athletes must sign a letter of intent (LOI).  Athletes are only eligible to sign one LOI. 
  • Letters of intent are only considered official when received by Volleyball Alberta.

2023-24 Tryout Information

There are two tryout periods.  Early tryouts in June and Winter tryouts in December.  The Winter tryouts will start at the completion of the high school and junior high school seasons (after ASAA Provincials) beginning Sunday, November 26, 2023.  By registering for tryouts, athletes can attend both Early and Winter Tryouts.  If an athlete is not selected for a team or there are limited available positions in the Early  tryout period, they are still eligible to attend the Winter Tryouts.  If trying out for multiple age groups, athletes will need to register and pay each tryout fee per age group.  

There are numerous open gyms coming up for various age classes, check the site often to take advantage of meeting the coaches and participating during these open gym sessions. 

Tryout Fee

A $40 per player per age group tryout fee must be paid online.  The tryout fee is non-refundable to be paid online prior to the athletes participating .

Registration Process

  1. All athletes MUST register on our FOG website (www.fogvolleyball.com) prior to attending tryouts.  
  2. ALL participants tryout out for club volleyball are required to register with Volleyball Registration System as a "Youth Recreational Player" PRIOR to the commencement of the tryouts for liability purposes.  

    Please present proof of registration with printed email confirmation from Volleyball Alberta at 1st tryout!
  3. A $40 per player per age group FOG TRYOUT FEE must be paid online prior to their first tryout.

The tryout fee ($40) must be paid online prior to the tryouts.  If registering for multiple age groups, a duplicate registration must be completed to ensure they are listed in the correct tryout group and a tryout fee paid to secure adequate venue size and/or multiple tryout dates.
