It was a weekend of mixed emotions for the FOG Black U17 team. Premier 1 had the team seeded in a pool with only 3 teams, meaning the top 2 teams would advance to the Black pool and the third place team would be relegated to the Blue tier. After the pool play all 3 teams were tied in matches and sets so the pool tiering came down to points and after all the calculation were done we finished third in our pool by a total of points ratio of 0.0077 from the second place team, that means that any single point more for us or less for our opponents would have put FOG Black in second in the pool, (remember every point counts). With the disappointment of not being in the Black playoff pool behind them, the team focused on the task at hand of finishing in the top 4 teams in the blue pool to ensure that we would be seeded back into the Black pool in Premier 2. They faced some great competition on their way to the Blue tier final included an exciting 3 set match with the FOG Red U17 team in the semifinals. The team ended up winning the Blue Tier gold medal and will start preparing for Premier 2 the first weekend in March.
