The philosophy of this program is to provide young players the best way to learn to play the game of volleyball in a fun, participation-based and non-competitive environment.
This is a introductory volleyball program designed for players 11-12 years old. Exceptions will be made for players aged 10, depending on the numbers participating in the program/sessions. The program is designed for players new to the sport and for those who have some (limited) experience.
The main focus of this group is to learn basic skills and the game of volleyball in a positive and fun environment. This is ideal for beginners and other players to upgrade their skills for next years school or club (U13) team.
The technical information about the game of volleyball and the skills required to play the sport are provided by qualified coach(s). Each player learns at his/her own rate. There are drills for players of all levels and accomondations made for the novice player. By the end of the program, players will have a better understanding of the game and advance their skills for their next level of play: school or club teams.
No one is cut from little foggers as this is a skills camp not a team. We do not limit the number of kids who can attend but will split the group in half to accommodate a large number participants. Our focus is to start the process of developing elite volleyball players, although most participants have very little volleyball experience our goal is to set a foundation of skills.
This allows team coaches in the future more time to teach team strategy and game skills and less time correcting individual player skills. Little Foggers does limit game playing in its approach to skill development while emphasizing development through drills meant to isolate each aspect of volleyball. This allows each participant the maximum exposure to ball contact and learning the game. Please confirm with your child before enrolling in little foggers that this type of volleyball camp is what they are wanting to participate in.
The focus is on participation versus competition!
